2017 Shaheen 3MT® Finals Competition

Nine graduate students will be competing at the 2017 Shaheen 3MT® Finals Competition, as they attempt to explain their research in three minutes. Representing the College of Engineering are Mark Summe (chemical and biomolecular engineering), Maryann Moosai (computer science and engineering), and MingMing Cai (electrical engineering). These students will compete against Julia Beck (biochemistry), Elizabeth Loughran (integrated biomedical sciences) and Stefan Freed (biological sciences) from the College of Science and Nicole Winsor, Mimi Ensley and Jillian Snyder, (all from English) representing the College of Arts and Letters on Monday, March 27, 2017 at  4pm.  

  • Judges will determine 1st and 2nd prizes for the competition
  • Audience will vote on a People’s Choice Award – 3rd Prize
  • Prizes:  1st Place $2,000, 2nd Place $1,500, People’s Choice Award $1,000
  • Networking reception to follow awarding of prizes
