The Smart Antenna and Radio Laboratory (SARL) was established in 2011 at Gonzaga University through a $1.2 Million grant for the purpose of creating jobs through industry / university technology development while exposing undergraduate students to opportunities in wireless communications and compliance testing. This seminar will highlight the capabilities and equipment in the laboratory which is used extensively for antenna testing and product compliance testing. It will also focus on the antenna and radio technologies that have been developed which include omnidirectional antennas capable of adjusting their polarizations.

Steve Schennum earned his B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. from Montana State University and his Ph.D. from Washington State University. He has been on the faculty at Gonzaga University in the Electrical Engineering department for the past 21 years, where he is also the director of the Smart Antenna and Radio Laboratory.
