The pack offers customized Web links and widgets to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube – all with a few simple clicks on your mobile device.
“The Sprint ID pack for Notre Dame is an important step in the evolution of Sprint ID,” said Kimberly Green-Kerr, vice president, Midwest enterprise. “Notre Dame is one of this country’s premier institutions, and having Sprint ID available for its nationwide body of fans and alumni is a big bonus for Sprint.”
The Notre Dame Sprint ID pack will include a variety of content unique to the university – such as Web cams, dining hall menus, lab finder, sports updates, calendars and campus news. The primary wallpaper for the pack is an image of the “ND” logo set against a blue backdrop.
“With Sprint ID, the entire Notre Dame family – fans, students, faculty and alumni – can take Notre Dame with them anywhere they go,” said Notre Dame CIO Ron Kraemer. “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to provide a unique, customized Notre Dame experience for Sprint customers.”
Customers with Sprint ID-capable devices can download up to five ID packs onto their device and easily switch back and forth between them or swap them out for new ones. The Notre Dame Sprint ID pack is now available on a variety of Android-powered smartphones, among them Samsung Epic 4G™, LG Optimus S™, Motorola PHOTON™ 4G and more.
The launch of the Sprint ID Notre Dame pack coincides with this weekend’s Shamrock Series presented by Sprint, an annual football game featuring the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and a different opponent each year. This year, the Irish face the Maryland Terrapins at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. This is Sprint’s second year as sponsor of the Shamrock Series.

Not only is Sprint the official wireless sponsor of Notre Dame athletics, but Sprint is also a co-sponsor of a three-year study at the school’s Wireless Institute. The study tracks the wireless habits of students who volunteered for the study and determines what, if any, effects their mobile usage has on their face-to-face communication.
