Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium and 3MT Competition

The Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium and second annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition offer a glimpse into the various humanities, social sciences, and STEM-related research projects conducted by undergraduate students participating in summer REU programs at the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College. This event is free and open to the Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s communities and the general public.
There are 150 students presenting 136 posters, representing 23 REU programs, 6 colleges, 2 divisions, and 24 departments, centers, and institutes. Fourteen (14) students are competing in the 2nd annual Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, representing 11 REU programs (BioREU, CBE SMASH, COS-SURF, ESURE, Naughton Fellowship, NDnano NURF, ND PREP, Physics REU, RAMP, Slatt Fellowship, SROP).

*A luncheon is scheduled during the 3MT Competition for all student presenters and their guests. This is a ticketed event, requiring prior check-in at the registration table. A limited number of luncheon tickets and general seating will be available for visitors.
