Bill McAlpin - WD9GIU, presenting at NDRS on Wednesday, September 11th

Join us for the monthly Notre Dame Radio Society meeting on Wednesday, September 11, from 5:30 - 6:30 pm, in 258 Fitzpatrick Hall. We have the privilege of hearing from Bill McAlpin - WD9GIU, the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) Coordinator for Miami County, IN. He is also Club President of the Miami County Amateur Radio Club.

McAlpin is an experienced HAM operator, who has been involved with all aspects of the Amateur Radio World. He coordinates and oversees the International Space Station contacts for area schools through the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) program. 

He will be speaking on several exciting topics including:

  • How to be involved with amateur radio while serving in your community through programs like ARES/RACES
  • ISS Contacts
  • Other club activities
