Wireless Institute Engages Students at Notre Dame’s Annual Spring Career Fair

The Wireless Institute (WI) was excited to participate in this year’s Spring Career Fair, held in the Dahnke Ballroom at the Duncan Student Center on January 27, 2026. With close to 800 students in attendance, the event created an energetic environment for students to explore research opportunities and careers in industry. The strong turnout reflected growing interest in the wireless communications landscape and the expanding role it plays across engineering and technology fields.

At the WI booth, our team connected with students at every stage of their academic journey, from first- and second-year undergraduates beginning to explore engineering pathways, to graduate students pursuing advanced research and internship opportunities within wireless industries. Conversations ranged from how to get involved in research early on to in-depth discussions about emerging technologies, industry partnerships, and long-term career goals.

The fair provided an excellent platform to showcase the breadth of WI’s undergraduate and graduate research programs. Students learned about hands-on opportunities in our labs, interdisciplinary collaboration, faculty mentorship, and pathways that connect classroom learning to real-world wireless innovation. Many were excited to discover that research engagement can begin as early as their first or second year, creating valuable experience that leads to internships and leadership roles throughout their time at the university.

Graduate students showed strong interest in WI’s advanced research initiatives and industry-aligned projects addressing critical challenges in connectivity, spectrum innovation, security, and next-generation wireless systems. These conversations highlighted WI’s unique role in bridging academic research with practical, industry-driven applications.

The Spring Career Fair gave the Wireless Institute a meaningful opportunity to showcase who we are and the impact of our work. The enthusiasm we saw from students reinforced the growing momentum around wireless innovation at Notre Dame. The Wireless Institute is proud to be at the center of that energy. We look forward to continuing these conversations and welcoming new students into the WI community in the months ahead.
