Professor Keating’s expertise is in business forecasting, experimental economics, economic regulation, and not-for-profit organizations. Recent research has examined data mining and its use. Keating has written or co-authored 15 books, including a best-selling forecasting and data mining textbook used in colleges and universities (Mc Graw-Hill), and a microeconomics book for public managers (Blackwell).
Keating has been awarded numerous honors for teaching and researching, including the Kaneb Teaching Excellence Award and the PricewaterhouseCoopers E-Commerce Grant, and he was voted the 2009 MBA Teacher of the Year. He has served as an editor of Social Science Quarterly and was a Salvatori Fellow of the Heritage Foundation. He currently serves on the Board of the Institute of Business Forecasting and the Board of WorkOne Indiana.
