TIFFANIE SAMMONS

Bettex Chair Professor Emeritus, Dan Costello, is presenting a 3-hour Plenary Lecture on “Spatially Coupled Low-Density Parity-Check Codes” at the European School of Information Theory (ESIT), on May 8, 2017, in Madrid, Spain. The ESIT is a week-long, annual event, organized by the IEEE Information Theory Society, for graduate students from institutes throughout Europe and the world. The objective of the school is to provide the students with the opportunity (i) to learn from distinguished lectures by attending long-format tutorials, (ii) to present their own work to obtain feedback and to start-up collaborations, (iii) to hear about applications of information theory in industry, and (iv) to participate in a stimulating and inviting forum of scientists.
