The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame (NDEE) is pleased to announce Professor Hai Lin was promoted to full professor for the 2019-2020 academic year. Professor Lin is also a member of the Wireless Institute.

A former student of NDEE H.C. and E.A. Brosey Professor Panos Antsaklis, Lin is NDEE alumni. He received his Ph.D. degree from NDEE in 2005. Before returning to his alma mater, Lin had been working as an assistant professor in the National University of Singapore from 2006 to 2011.

Lin’s teaching and research interests include multidisciplinary study of the problems at the intersections of control, verification, and learning. His current research thrust is within cyber-physical systems, multi-robot cooperative tasking, advanced manufacturing systems, human machine collaboration and formal synthesis of distributed cooperative systems.

“Since returning to Notre Dame, Professor Lin has been a great contributor to the area of control systems at the boundary between the physical world and the digital world,” said NDEE Chair, Professor Greg Snider. “His promotion is a well-deserved recognition of his work.”

Lin’s graduate students have benefited greatly in their research efforts as they work alongside him and lean on his mentoring.
