Punjabi Joins ND Wireless as Managing Director

Harish Punjabi has joined Notre Dame’s Wireless Institute in the College of Engineering at the University of Notre Dame as its first managing director. Punjabi will be responsible for strategic planning, business development, and large-scale project management within the institute. He will also manage communications and outreach, finances, and other day-to-day operations of the institute.

Punjabi’s professional experience includes 22 years in the wireless industry. He has been in consulting and leadership roles for the design, deployment, overall project management, and optimization of wireless networks in many cities throughout the United States, as well as India, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Australia. Punjabi has also been a product manager of software tools for wireless network performance, with startup and midsize companies conducting business in more than 30 countries. These roles involved such responsibilities as strategy, marketing, product evangelist, relationship management, technical sales, and sales support. Before this industry experience, Punjabi taught undergraduate telecommunications courses in India.Punjabi received his master’s degree from North Carolina State University in 1994 in electrical engineering and his bachelor’s degree from Maharashtra Institute of Technology, India, in 1990 in electronics and telecommunications engineering. He is a volunteer teacher with the global, humanitarian Art of Living Foundation.
